Tenth Annual Geneva Arts Fair Set this Month

GENEVA – The 10th Annual Geneva Arts Fair, a two-day art extravaganza July 23 and 24, is expected to attract 20,000 people to the city’s Third Street shopping district.

Paintings for Parkinson's

The joy of painting provides painful symptom relief for many Parkinson's patients. So what better way to raise money for Parkinson's research than to offer paintings for a cure! Many local and some international artists have teamed with the Paul Ruby Foundation on our first Paintings for Parkinson's fundraiser.

"Drawn Together" Local Artist Exhibit

Paul Ruby Foundation Announces Lineup of Artists in 2011 'Painting 4 Parkinsons'


The first “Paintings 4 Parkinson’sfine art exhibit and sale will be on display from Nov. 4 to Dec. 9 at Art Box 514 W. State St., Geneva.
In addition to the ongoing exhibit, artists will be available every Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. throughout the show dates for an informal reception to meet buyers and guests. Attendees will marvel at the creative process of these pieces, which will consist of several mediums.

Naperville Fine Art Fair Announces Winners

In downtown Naperville, the first weekend of June marked the 52nd anniversary of the Naperville Woman’s Club Fine Art Fair. Despite 90-degree temperatures, the show was a great success, Art Fair Director Roxanne Lang said.The winners of the juried art fair are as follows:
Best in Show: Susan Zalkind and Paul Hawkins, alabaster sculpture
Naperville Woman’s Club Award: Andria Burchett, drawing

“We’re really about becoming part of the local community,” Andrews said. He added that they also exhibit local artwork on the walls. John Janunas and Dennis Walz, both of Batavia, and Timothy Johnson are displaying photography, and Andria Burchett of Geneva is showing her colored-pencil and graphite portraits.

Congregation Beth Shalom of Naperville

Loretta watercolor and ink drawings demonstrate a unique style all her own. She can't remember a time when she didn't want to draw. Though she worked in the corporate world, she attended art classes and workshops at Triton College, Benedictine University and the Naperville Art League. She has also studied with Geneva-based artist, Andria Burchett and Florida artist, Patty Kane.

Both Quality and Quantity

Andria Burchett of Geneva will be showing her colored pencil artwork in the Outdoor Fine Art Show. "This is the fourth time I have participated in the Art in Your Eye Show," she said, "and it is one of my favorites.
